A Letter to Women Who Are Just Getting Interesting
There comes a point in midlife when things begin to shift.
Sometimes it’s obvious.
Sometimes it’s subtle.
Sleep becomes unpredictable.
Your patience with certain things quietly disappears.
Conversations with friends become more honest.
And you begin to notice that the rules you thought existed no longer feel quite so relevant.
Menopause is part of that story, of course.
For many of us it arrives with questions we weren’t prepared for.
What is happening to my body?
Why did nobody explain this properly?
Why does it feel like everyone else knows something I don’t?
But menopause is only one part of midlife.
Because alongside the confusion, something else appears: clarity.
A sense that you know yourself better than you once did.
That you’re less interested in pleasing everyone, and more interested in living well.
That’s where Hot Not Bothered comes in.
It’s a space for women navigating midlife with curiosity, humour and perspective. A place to talk honestly about menopause, yes — and about work, relationships, sleep, beauty, reinvention, and the strange freedoms that arrive as we grow older.
More importantly, the conversation will be shaped by the women in it — through shared experiences, discussion, and the occasional poll asking what we’re all wondering.
